Portable pneumatic radial pressure wave
Chattanooga's portable radial pressure wave unit, with a built-in compressor and simple LED controls in an 8.2 kg housing.
Specs and prices are estimates based on publicly available data as of September 2026. Confirm details with the manufacturer or seller before you buy.
A compressed-air projectile in the handpiece generates the radial wave. Pressure runs from 1 to 5 bar in 0.1 bar steps and frequency up to 21 Hz, falling to 12 Hz at full pressure. Pulses are started from a button on the handpiece, and the US brochure rates the standard Ro40 and D20-S transmitters at 0.38 and 0.48 mJ/mm².
Launched in 2017, it replaced the Intelect Mobile RPW. Its US user manual lists STORZ MEDICAL AG as the manufacturer, gives the handpiece an expected service life of about 5 million shocks, and sets a two-year warranty on the unit.
Where it stands out. The most portable Chattanooga option, with published pricing.
What to check. Same FDA listing caveat as the RPW2: a listing, not a clearance.
Every figure links to the page it came from. Fields the manufacturer does not publish are left out.
Pressure in bar, energy flux density in mJ/mm² and energy per pulse in mJ are different quantities. A figure in one row never stands in for another.
Focal depth, penetration and focus volume measure three different things. Compare like with like.
No model-specific FDA clearance was located. What exists is a DJO establishment and device listing, which registers the facility and the device type. A listing is not a clearance and carries no indication.

The Chattanooga Intelect Mobile 2 RPW is a pneumatic radial shockwave machine. A radial device puts its peak energy at the applicator surface and spreads it through a broad, superficial area.
The Chattanooga Intelect Mobile 2 RPW is made by Chattanooga (part of Enovis Corporation), based in Lewisville, Texas, USA. Shockwave Source sells and leases it in the United States.
Yes. Shockwave Source leases the Chattanooga Intelect Mobile 2 RPW, with a lease estimate of $380 per month. That figure is an estimate rather than a term sheet: contract length, APR, total payments and the end-of-term buyout are confirmed at quote.
The published figures for the Chattanooga Intelect Mobile 2 RPW are energy: 0.38–0.48 mJ/mm² with the standard transmitters · 1–5 bar; frequency: 1–21 Hz (the maximum falls to 12 Hz at 5 bar); depth: 0–50 mm max penetration; handpiece life: about 5 million shocks (expected service life; overhaul about every million); weight: 8.2 kg (≈ 18.1 lb) (control device). 8 of the 32 fields we track have no published figure, so ask for those in writing.
