Overview
The handpiece generates the pressure wave electromagnetically and focuses it with a parabolic reflector. Per the US product page, energy is set in steps from 0.01 to 0.55 mJ/mm² and frequency from 1 to 8 Hz. The operating manual places the focal zone between 0 and 65 mm deep, depending on which stand-off is fitted.
Chattanooga launched the Focus Shockwave in 2016. Its US operating manual names STORZ MEDICAL AG of Switzerland as the manufacturer and DJO as the exclusive US distributor, and gives the control device an expected service life of 15,000 operating hours.
